The University of Cincinnati has launched a business incubator focused specifically on developing mobile apps for Apple Inc.?s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and Google Inc.?s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports.

The incubator, housed in the school?s Steger Student Life Center, will ?provide a physical space to stimulate student and alumni collaboration leading to mobile app advancements,? UC said.

Chris Wanstrath, cofounder of GitHub, a San Francisco-based hosting service for software development projects, is scheduled to speak at a kickoff event Feb. 19.

The event also will celebrate the launch of a suite of University of Cincinnati mobile apps, including one for alumni.
